At Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks, we’re committed to a broad range of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities across our business.
Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks (AWIN) supports the transition to a sustainable future by operating and managing water networks that enable efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible water distribution. As a New Appointment and Variation (NAV) provider, AWIN plays a long-term role in ensuring that water infrastructure is future-ready and capable of meeting the demands of a growing population and a changing climate.
We adopt and manage water and wastewater for developments across the Industrial, Commercial and Residential sectors. These connections are designed to support increasing demand for water efficiency and conservation, while aligning with the UK’s sustainability and net-zero ambitions. Our approach ensures that water resources are managed responsibly, reducing environmental impact and supporting communities for generations to come.
We are also committed to managing our own environmental impact. Across the wider group, we have completed external ESG assessments and are taking active steps to reduce our carbon footprint. This includes developing a formal ESG strategy, monitoring our energy use and waste, and promoting sustainable practices throughout the business.
We focus on delivering reliable, resilient water networks built to support long term community needs. Our approach prioritises safe operations, strong technical standards and efficient delivery across each stage of our developments.
As demand patterns shift and climate pressures increase, we plan our networks to remain robust during periods of high use and environmental stress. By building resilience into our designs, we help ensure our networks continue to perform well for customers and communities in the years ahead.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across all aspects of our operations. Our approach is built on rigorous processes, regular training, and a culture that prioritises safe working environments for both our employees and contractors. We maintain a strong safety record and continually review our procedures to ensure they reflect current best practice.
While our operational footprint differs from that of active construction sites, we apply the same high standards to the adoption, monitoring, and ongoing management of our networks. Regular audits and risk assessments help us to meet both regulatory requirements and internal expectations.
We also recognise the importance of wellbeing. All our staff have access to a range of support tools, including mental health first aiders, wellbeing champions, dedicated resource libraries, and confidential helplines.
We believe our success is built on the strength of our people. We invest in their development through structured training, professional learning opportunities, and support for academic progression. Whether office-based or working in the field, our teams are given the tools and resources to grow their careers and contribute to a high-performing, values-led organisation.
Supporting the wider community is an important part of our culture. Across the group, both the Board and our employees actively seek out ways to make a positive impact on local and national causes.
This includes providing play equipment for a local special school, donating football kits and equipment to grassroots teams, and contributing to food banks through both company-led and staff-led initiatives. We also work with schools and colleges to deliver career fairs and mock interviews, helping young people prepare for the world of work.
Our people are encouraged to use their volunteering days each year, with paid time off to support local charities and community projects that matter to them.
We work with a trusted supply chain to support the efficient delivery and long-term operation of our water networks. Where possible, we prioritise local suppliers and partners to reduce transportation requirements and support regional economies.
Although we don’t deliver multi-utility services directly, we play a key role in ensuring the networks we adopt are built to high standards, with sustainability and efficiency in mind. We promote responsible delivery practices, including effective waste management and streamlined coordination with utility partners, to minimise disruption and environmental impact.
We conduct regular reviews to identify and manage strategic, operational and external risks. This includes maintaining up-to-date company policies, carrying out internal audits, and documenting key controls to ensure effective oversight across all areas of the business.
Our Directors are committed to operating in line with recognised corporate governance principles, with a focus on transparency, accountability and long-term resilience.
We are committed to delivering high standards across quality, safety and environmental performance, in line with statutory requirements and industry expectations.
Our management systems are accredited to ISO standards for Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001) and Health and Safety (ISO 45001), providing assurance that our operations meet recognised benchmarks. As part of a regulated industry, we also work in accordance with the standards set by Ofwat and other relevant authorities.
We recognise our responsibility to uphold high standards of ethical conduct, transparency and corporate governance.
AWIN operates under a framework of policies covering areas such as health and safety, anti-bribery, environmental protection, equal opportunities, equality and diversity, training and development, and whistleblowing. These policies reflect our core values and support a culture of accountability across the business.
